Re: OCTOBER Lotto - 10in Log Cabin with a 6.5in sq to start
Velda - How are you feeling?? I am hoping we’ll. Tomorrow is the 10th. Last day of quarantine - YEA!!!! What is the first thing you will be doing outside the home??? It is so much fun making a new home your own.
Ok it is the 9th. I didn’t think this would be a difficult or time consuming to make 2-3 blocks.
Maybe I should give a heads up as to what fabrics we would be using ahead of time so we have more pals. Hmmm
Hope you all are enjoying some beautiful fall quilting.

Teresa, I am feeling good. My fabric I ordered to make baby gift of cloth diapers for my neice arrived yesterday. I am knee deep in this project.
Go to Photo Section to see my picture.
Still hoping I can at least make one or two for an entry, but, I can't promise, I don't have any fall fabrics, and will have to see what I can find next week when I get to Joanne's and Walmart. We don't have stores here for fabric. Have to drive about 25 - 30 miles to shop.
Don't want to be a party pooper. LOL. Just won't commit yet.
I will try.

Got some fabrics today. I will see what goes later in the week. Will keep you posted.
I was looking up a chart for making HST. I think I have to start with 3 3/8" squares. Will have to experiment and see how it goes.
Looks like for 6.5" center I will need 2.5" squares and HST in making the leaf design.

I didn't mail anything yet (maybe a different Mary??). I just finished the putting together the pinwheel blocks. I'm going to try to make a sample block tonight or tomorrow. I was able to pull together a few fabrics.

Re: OCTOBER Lotto - 10in Log Cabin with a 6.5in sq to start
Now I have a question, after reading Mary Go's earlier post when she asked you, Teresa, about the 6.5" block.. I thought it had to be a leaf, pieced or applique. Now I see that you told her that it can be anything. Are you saying it can be a 4-patch, pinwheel, acorn, pumpkin, anything in fall colors and/or fall theme??
Please set us straight.
I am going to try a sample block later this week. Would like to be sure what your vision is.
Thanks

Hi Velda. Yes to anything that is Fall related. I would rather NOT have 4-patches. But yes to to the pumpkins, etc that you mentioned. I have leaves, pumpkins and and acorn.

I didn't see anyone post their blocks yet. I'm curious what everyone else did!
I was able to make 5 different blocks. Stitching down the tree and leaves is the next step. The leaves are small so I'm not sure about a blanket stitch but I will give it a try.

I just switched out the outer fabrics. Was I supposed to switch out the 6.5" center block too???
All of my centers are the same design. I'm hoping that is O.K. because they are already done.
