Yes, Vel applique is fine. Just make sure it is secure so stays in place on a long arm

Nice thing about applique is, if you find a heart that is too small you can easily increase the copy percentage on your printer to make it into a larger heart. I have a crazy quilt type heart that is paper pieced that I may just do that with.

And poof, just like that, Squirrel. I have 12 tabs open with heart designs. Ugh, need to go check them out.

I got 2 pieced hearts cut out, will sew them together tomorrow. I also found a pattern for a crazy quilt heart.

I can see so much romance in that pattern with soft florals. May need to try it although paper piecing not my strength

I love that paper pieced crazy heart. I also plan to paper piece My hearts but my pattern is different from this one.
