I think I've mentioned from time to time that I have a ton of layer cakes and jelly rolls that I need to use up. So I often turn to BLOCK magazine to find a way to do that. The latest issue had this pattern "Moon and Star" and I had a not-quite-full layer cake to use up so I thought I'd give it a try. It wasn't hard to make tho, I had a hard time getting everything to line as perfectly as I would like, but, once done it will keep somebody warm. And who knows , it may just end up on the end of my bed this winter. I found the purple border fabric in my stash in the garage, and I'm sure there is something out there I can use for the back!
